Starting a design project is a momentous occasion, and one worth celebrating. Our approach is optimistic and grounded in the principles of hospitality. We listen closely and see ourselves as co-authors alongside our clients, shaping each project together through a process of discovery.
The same curiosity that drives us to explore the world around us fuels our work. It pushes us past the expected toward ideas that are fresh, well-crafted, and generous to the people who experience them.
Why Ember:
The ember is the elemental origin of the hearth, the oven, and the gathering place, the things that have always brought people together on common ground. We chose the name for its warmth, humility, and promise. An ember is small and approachable, but primed with potential: the spark of an idea, capable of growing into something great.
Founder:
Bob is an architect, designer, and the founder of Ember. He cut his teeth on wineries, hospitality projects, and collaborations with Nike, work that sharpened his attunement to client identity and sense of place. That sensibility runs through every project, along with a hands-on, relationship-driven approach and a commitment to thoughtful, well-considered design.
