Last Rodeo

Type: Restaurant Year: 2025

A cowboy cocktail bar and BBQ taco cantina on SE Milwaukie Avenue, The Last Rodeo pairs the bar team behind The Old Gold, Paydirt, Tough Luck, Hi-Top Tavern and Holy Ghost with the pitmasters of Matt's BBQ Tacos. A former funeral parlor turned restaurant is reimagined through a vibrant single room open bar refresh. The design channels what co-owner Ezra Ace Caraeff calls a "depressed Palm Springs cowboy" aesthetic where western-kitscsh meets mid-century modern forms. Contemporary western artwork by Kevin Chupik depicting lonely cowboys in roadside vistas and truck-stop glam completes the room. The 1,800-square-foot space went from leased to opening in just under 120 days, welcoming its first guests in July 2025.
