Lighthouse Resort Events Hall

Type: Hospitality, Resort, Masterplanning Year: 2025

Lighthouse Resort is a historic, sprawling forest-to-beach retreat on Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula. The master plan tested scenarios for expanding the resort’s amenities to draw visitors during the off-peak season, leading to the schematic design of a new events hall. The hall and its connected outdoor spaces form a sheltered courtyard that ties together the resort’s distinctive amenities, including a greenhouse-style indoor/outdoor pool and a large indoor pickleball facility. Deep overhangs shelter guests from the region’s heavy rainfall and create informal gathering spaces along the building’s edge, connecting to a newly proposed network of walkways. Wood screens on the facade temper coastal winds and frame selective views, encouraging a sense of discovery as guests move through the grounds.
